"BOBBY GRIFFEN"
First giving honor to God and thanking him for blessing me
with the talent to sing. There are so many thank yous so let me start at the
beginning at Wesley Chapel CME Church in my home state of Texas. As the Choir
sang my mother pointed out just where she wanted me to start singing. She would
then point to the choir to stop singing and there I was all alone. My first solo
at 8 years old --"Old Happy Day". Through the years I have met and worked with
many fantastic musicians, and I would like to give special thanks to those who
worked on the CD --"Where Were You?". Available on Inland Empire Records.
Marciel Garner; These songs started out in his studio. Man we
go along way back! Mr. Larry Johnson; Who is no longer with us. Also Mr. Eddie
Latin. Thanks, Mr. Philemon Young for his most valuable input in getting the
project going. A special thanks to the Ohio Trio Plus band members who put their
soul into this music. You guys are great! Billy Butler, Bill Pittman, Norman
Weatherly, and Marlin Manual. Also thanks to Tony Mathews, Ron Brown, Terry
Carter, Hillard Wilson, Elson Payne, Kurt Alexander, Larry Johnson, Miki Murphy,
Carmen Williams, Mike Simms, Jimmy Scott, Lionel Green and Billy Nunn. Thank you
Mr. Davis for your songs. This one's for you. Thanks to my wife and son for
their support. Thanks to all my fans that have supported me in the past. KEEP IT
COMING! "Need A Freak" is my tribute to the late Johnnie Taylor who is in soul
heaven. Thank you Marvin Sease! Love you all!
